I converted one of mine to 8mm Ti and made a new taper cone for it in Ti to suit. If your looking to save weight, a quick calculation for the 8mm Ti vs 6mm stainless, might he usefull.

What did you do about the cap on top of the stem? My M6 bolt sits snug inside it, its alloy and doesnt look like it would reem out to M8

I opened it out in my lathe and slightly reduced the outer diameter of the bolt to minimise the work on the stem.
