Tioga disc drive - lesson learned today + help please

Just to add my contribution as well, when I was tensioning/truing mine I got a couple of small blocks of wood in the jaws of a pair of mole grips to hold the buttons straight while I turned the nipple with a screwdriver. It was a bit of a PITA but I took it slowly and it seemed to come out okay.

Wish I'd seen this Thread before today.. Are you still building the Disco? I know a Dude who will build it for you; he laced mine up to a 117 which also has a higher profile than a 231/261 etc.
I still need to build it up so any advice or expertise to do it for me would be well received. I'm moving house so not got any time myself right now.

Old T-Disk's need to be built using rims from the same era. I ran into the same problem first time through as well.

Mavic M231/261, Araya RM17, Sun Chinook, so on so forth.

Additionally, with the way disk wheels are....now that you've untensioned it, its unlikely it will ever hold true again. You might get it close to true...but after one ride, it'll be roped.

Sorry for the bad news, thats just how these things are.

It came unlaced, or loosely laced. Not sure it's seen much action so hopefully it will be ok. Not going to treat it roughly so it should be fine for what I need.

Anyone know if a retro sun cr18 will work?
