there seems to be loads of modern kit cluttering up the classifieds and knocking good retro stuff off the front page

does anyone else agree it's time for a modern bike classifieds section?

I would be inclined to agree, for what it's worth..

Only issue is the increase in moderator action required which will inevitably follow :?

I'd be happy to moderate it if there was a modern for sale/wanted section

It'd be crap , this is retro bike . Not turn up and post a load of crap because it's free and your too lazy to use ebay . If there is to be a modern for sale section there should also be a fee to be a trader for it .

It's fine when there's a load of old stuff from a member with a couple newer bits thrown in to the ad but when it's just all your new stuff it takes the pee a bit .

If anything there should be better titles , I hardly ever look in there now , I don't have the time to browse through all the " I'm xyz and I am selling all my stuff " threads . Separating it out into frame , drivetrain , braking etc would be so much better .

I have both a modern bike and retro ones so I'm not adverse to newer kit being sold but the site does say retrobike and I think splitting out the newer stuff would be handy. As far as charging goes there's no point, the whole idea of a classified forum is to sell the stuff a little cheaper to fellow enthusiasts.

Anything over 10 years, retro and anything 10 years and under, modern. This of course changes each year as in 2011, 2001 becomes 10 year old. You have to remember that retro evolves and what is not retro now will be for someone eventually.

I'm with Perry on this, if its modern why sell it on a retro site, bung it on ebay/gumtree etc

Modern classifieds section is somewhat against the ethos of this site :?
