Time for a break......

i feel that way about driving ,derive no pleasure from it at all
i usually let wifey drive these days ,so i sit and watch the world go by

i sometimes get fed up with bikes so leave them in the shed for a week or so and the interest returns ,riding the same stuff regularly can get a bit
tiresome so an awayday ride usually gives the perspective on whats on my doorstep and rekindles the passion

winter depression dosen't help ,its always bloody dark and at the moment
everything covered in snow or ice ,hardly ideal for bike riding

Thanks very much for all the empathy and good advice, guys 8) .

I'll probably do a bit more walking over Christmas and New Year and not worry so much about riding for a week or two - of course, no doubt I'll not be able to resist carrying a few trail clearing tools with me just in case I spot some likely new routes.
Then, hopefully, I'll want to ride them.....

There's a fair bit of riding goes on around here, but this time of year it's mainly night riding and I've never felt enthusiastic enough about the idea to fork out for a set of lights. I'm more often than not out on my own as I can fit a few hours in around work etc and at short notice.
I'd planned to get out on a club ride on Jan 2nd (unless the weather is too pissy) but I really must make the effort to get to a Retrobike ride next year. I'm in need of some humiliation.....
It's a lot of time, trouble and expense from here though, which is understandably why non of you guys ever make it over to here, I suppose.
