Three Peaks CX race

Anyone here ridden it?
Interested to hear your stories and see photos.
I was wondering about doing it sometime, but only have mtbs that would be suitable off-road . Unfortunately, they're not allowed.
So, how was your race?

Having done it it in 2009, 2010 (viewtopic.php?t=167444&highlight=peaks) and 2012 (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=223400&p=1683000&hilit=+Peaks+Bob#p1683000) it is a fantastic event that I highly recommend.

Now THAT is a long story. Which I hope to read tonight when I'll have time. Getting an itch to get a cx frameset now! :facepalm: Same size as a road frame? Or a bit smaller to allow for gonad gap ? !

My mate road the yorkshire 3 peaks a year or so back on an MTB, even them much of it is still walking and scarry downhill on a retrobike.

As for the CX race, no idea.

I did look it up,and appears to allow cx bikes only. If it's a lot more walking than riding though, maybe I'll give it a miss. Should I build up a cx bike, that is

That's the race though a specific CX race. Just go ride it on your MTB ;-)

Though I'll reiterate you'll be walking a carrying a bike up a lot of it from what he said. It's not ridable. Downhills are great fun if not leathal. Do it on a day there are not likely to be a lot of walkers.

Giestimaet at 60-70% riding rest walking?

Others might have done it, I have not... Yet.
