only bought last year but there is a code on the top of the clamp

Didn't realise it was a road version but assuming that it gives the same chainline I'm sure it'll be fine...

i assume the box is mislabelled, the BB shell/spacer says XC
the road ones say road

It does say XC on it, well spotted! I should know better than to judge by the box, even if the contents seem to match... Sure it'll be fine anyway, and I'm glad to see you're another heavy copperslip user

Didn't think to mention it before, but I don't suppose there were a couple of outer rubber seals with it? The ones I've seen before have had them pressed into the tool indents.
