I've got a creaky bottom.
Thompson bottom backets have the cups pressed into the shell and the adjustment is made on the axle itself. I think the creaking is coming from the cup moving slightly in the shell. Whatever is causing it, it's driving me mad.
Does anyone know if you can replace the whole lot with a new sealed threadless bottom bracket? Does anyone know the diameter of the cups on a Thompson? Without taking the whole lot apart I've got no way of checking.
