Was tidying up earlier and saw that the Tourney mech off the GT had a spiffing red jockey wheel on it.. a 'MEGAPULLEY 15T'

Since the STX mech off the Voodoo cleaned up quite nice I thought it'd look groovy with the jockey wheels off the Tourney.. and I reckon it does - it should still work ok with the bigger wheels shouldn't it?

The lower carries the chain whereas the upper is for changing,so i think it should be all right :D
Can but give it a go

i always thought the tourney mechs had a bigger cage to accomodate the bigger jockey, i know for certain that an alivio mech i have (which has a bigger jockey), has a bigger cage

It probably has.. as long as the Tourney rings are in the STX and spinning freely with room to spare, can you envisage an issue?

Last thing I need is a few weeks in hospital following an off from a poorly thought out plan ;)

Go for it. And don't worry we'll still be here when you get out.

Thanks for waiting for me . . . . I think :?

And yeah, that's the STX (the Tourney is an ugly, chunky, black affair... like Rusty Lee).....

You can get away with modern 11t's no problems on the lower but that is a whopper.

Proof is in the pudding and all that.

Once the cranks are here I'll bolt it up on the Voodoo and see what gives. .

Is this a case of it either works or not and I'll know as soon as I try to spin the pedals?

yeah should be
as i said, just get a chain around it and see if there is enough clearance, if yes you should be good :D
