This is what happens to your fork's elastomers...

Having seen the photo' the guy is going to send me a suitable pair of springs as a replacement (he'd already sent me a second pair of elastomers - the ones on the right...) so fair play to him... 8)
 
I inherited some old RSTs with a bike. On stripping them down
they were full of mud, or so I thought.

Mate check em to discover it was liquidised elastomer.
 
The elastomers in my Judy's just crumbled too, but they have been replaced by a nice set of springs now. :D My dad has RST's on his Giant though....best stip them down for him and check what they are like :?
They don't seem to like temperature change so I've been told??
 
That's an understatement if ever I heard one... :lol:

They dissolve when they get too hot and turn to rock when it's cold!

Just replaced the duff originals on my Manitou II's with heavy duty Wings springs and now I have a better-than-new fork in place of a rather fancy looking rigid one... 8)
