Used to race home for adolescent fumblings with the girl next door. She was a year older than me and we got on a bit too well. Both our parents were at work and didn't get home until after 6. Her family moved away and my heart was broken. She turned up out-of-the-blue a couple of years later. Walked into our kitchen and sparked up a fag. The magic had gone.
