I love the fact there is a torque setting from the reflector bracket. there is zero reason to need to torque that (excluding not crushing the frame because you are a spanner wielding gorilla)

I'm sorry but are you referring to the cantilever brale straddle wire safety device?
Considering your experience, you of all people should recognise the importance of the correct torque there.
