Whilst I am sympathetic to your medical issue
1) you better sell yours then
2) lighten up , no need to be a misery
3) why not get off the net.

WHAT!!!, ARE YOU FOR REAL?????

Re:

i am in the medical profession and everyone deals with their illness in different ways and the anger phase is one of them. i have often seen on patient laugh and joke, while the chap in the next bed cannot even speak due to the thoughts going on in his head.

i'm sorry to hear about your terminal illness and hope that you are able to make the very most of your remaining years.

i for one, am fat but would still ride that low profile bike of your's.

albeit in the dark . .

ps everyone is entitled to their say on the internet and the ozzies are known for straight talking, so don't hold it against him - some of us might think what he has written but not many would actually say it!

I like your style Rusty " would still ride that low profile bike of your's, albeit in the dark . ." PMSL ;)

I was only answering your question Rusty asking if I was Fat or overweight ;) NO I don't ask for, or want sympathy about my condition & neither do I whinge about it, unlike cancer there is no treatment or cure, its terminal. (its just luck of the draw) & like I tell everyone it aign't over until the fat lady sings ;) For someone like me thats been very active all my life & a Pro Race Bike mechanic it comes as a bit of a shock that it now takes me something like 30 minutes or more to do a very very simple job like fitting new handlebar tape as I'm slowly losing the strength in my hands. But I still get a lot of enjoyment helping people when & if I can, from building up bikes even if it now takes me two days instead of a two hours. lol ;) One of the many things I now have to do is decide is, do I sell my collection of bikes (about 60) or pass them on to my children? the trouble is I still keep buying frames when they come up (doh).
Truthfully I've only two words to say to that idiots comment & the 2nd word is "OFF".

Re:

i'm so sorry to hear about your condition. i've met so many terminally ill people that i've lost count now, so you're not alone by a long shot, as i'm sure you know.
well, what else can you do but get on with it and make the most of life. i remember watching a documentary about group b rallying and an older and wiser ari vatenen was interviewed and the crash that cost him his career and almost cost him his life was discussed - his comment:

"in life, the banana skin could be around any corner..."

i would leave those bikes to your kids, if i was in your shoes. they are worth more than money in a bank account and will only appreciate in value.

and someone will ride that low profile with pride one day . .

8)

Used to have a guy bring one of these in for a loan at Cashconverters in Cambridge - I used to give £120 much to the horror of my boss...

Doesn't sound much like sympathy to me

I detected no hint of misery form Stringfellow's post, or that he was low. Just wouldn't want to ride that bike he mentioned

Why should he get off the internet? I, for one, enjoy looking at the fruits of his labour, and find his experience helpful for issues I may have with a bike build
If anyone should get off the internet, it should be you with your insensitive, ill-judged comments. And you can take your spite somewhere else!!

Don't have a good day!
