The right way to be a boss and share money

Once worked somewhere where the boss's new 911 Turbo was delivered to the office the day before he announced a load of redundancies. That went down well too.

I feel your pain, we were told on our last day that our (ex)boss was getting a payrise FOR getting rid of us!

It would have been less painful if he hadn't told us whilst laughing.

I just think breaking up a large amount of money into small amounts of money reduces its potential to effect change.

Potential apart, surely that depends upon who has it and what they are going to do with it, proof of the pudding being the current economic state of play.

My current view is that giving more money to people who will actually spend it is better for financial recovery than giving it to people who don't need it and won't.

What do you class as overpaid?.
Keeping the other $384,000,000.

Quite.

Heres a promise.

If I ever have £400,000,000. I guarantee that I will give John less than 4% of it to share amongst the members of this site.

Promise.

Agree. If the man gave me just £10,000 i'b over the moon even if he still had a vast amount to him self.
Better than nothing. Plus he thought of his staff and gave them a very tasty amount of money. It's the thought that counts to.

Great, pay them a one off bonus that will be largely wasted. I'd be more impressed if he had taken the money and funded a new company creating more employment, using the skills he had gained over a career of running a business.
Some people are never happy.

I don't know the detail but the guy looks near retirement age and is selling his business. Putting two and two together I'd guess starting a new company isn't high on his list of priorities.
