the price of a pint...

It's about £2.75 for real ale around here.
A couple of pints once a week, just to get to talk shit with mates-
not a bad price for a social.

I laugh at your over priced beer...

£1.79 a pint (see pic of me laughing)

OK so that was a year ago, it's now £1.90 for a pint of John Smiths...

...is about £3.40 where I live

That is why I have been to my local just 3 times this year.

My new local shop sells imported San Miguel for £5.50 for 6x 500ml cans.

So why the bleedin' 'ell should I go daaaan the pub when I can get blasted for a fraction of the cost?

I pine for the days when I could get blasted on three litres.

Well, I guess I can. The 9th, 10th and 11th.

Legrandfromage, recently.

Last time I was in a Sam Smith's pub in York, their bitter (on pump, not keg) was £1.50 a pint. The quality of the stuff can vary a bit, mind you; on balance I would rather have less pints of a slightly more expensive beer of better quality. Down here in Winchester, beer prices are pretty steep and regularly over the 3 quid a pint barrier; sadly ultra-bland Greene King IPA is usually involved in many of the city's pubs. Thankfully, whenever I go back to Wolverhampton to visit the folks, there's always Banks's mild to fall back on - not stupidly strong, usually good value and very tasty.
