Just a quick tick box job!

Was wondering what the general fave riding style on here is?

I personally like lycra'd up XC riding, but I know that doesnt appeal to all, so lets see what you all do

Im a relaxed see where the route takes me, time doesnt matter baggy sort of a guy.

Im the sort who goes out to the shops on their bike, then finally get back after a 30 mile roundtrip that evolved as the sun got higher.

Damnit, im itching to get out on my bike again, after comming off at speed a few weeks ago, ive promised my self to give time to fully heal before going out and making things worse. (the relaxed time doesnt matter guy seems to disapeer when riding with a friend, then it always ends up as a time really matters competition...which hurts when you fall off :( )

A bit of all of them really - depends on the mood I'm in, which bike I'm riding and who I'm riding with.
Only thing is, I don't wear lycra and I think it should be illegal for anyone my age to do so :) .
On the other hand, some might say that it should be illegal for someone my age to even consider doing a bit of dropping and jumping

How true is that

Had my first ride after 7 weeks off with broke ribs last night :D
Crashed after 5 mins  Nothing serious though :)
Nice to be back....

Saddo Dad so also a lot of the footpath type pootling, on the Mtn tandem with 5 year old stoking and 3 year old in the bike trailer.

What is the 'Past Lycra Sell By Date' then?

Depends on the individual I guess.... Put it this way - one day a couple of weeks ago I happened to be outside our house and a group of 40- something guys (all on Spesh FSR's and stuff like that) stopped just across the road. They all looked like financial services guys (what we used to call a "LOMBARD"). I said to my wife "My God, don't ever let me get like that !"
She said "You don't ride a Specialised - you always say wouldn't be seen dead on one, and besides - they look as if they have loads of money and we haven't" . I said "no, no ! - all that lycra on guys that really shouldn't wear it - it's horrible !"
Now she says I look good in Endura MT500 shorts (and who am I to argue 8)) but I'm not so sure. I'm not even a forty-something guy either so I've got even less of an excuse . No, at fifty six I reserve that stuff for my infrequent race outings - I feel much more at home in baggies, plus no-one will mistake me for a roadie either
