I dont get the fuss.

There are tons of threads to talk Retro, and there is an off topic thread to talk come what may.

No, it's not for whatever people want. There has to be some standards as defined by myself and the moderators. If people just want to throw abuse do it elsewhere. This isn't the place. If it gets to the point people are using this as some kind of bear pit / free for all we'll just bin off topic. Myself and the mods want to devote our time to a bike forum.

Iff people dont like/agree with what is said in off-topic, dont go in there.

Simples.

Really? Seem to recall exchanging PMs with yourself regarding something said in OT you disliked. Make your mind up.

The Off Topic forum will be moderated and adhere to the (fairly relaxed) standards set by myself and the other mods.

I only posted a concern due to the way I saw things going..
I'd hate for this place to go native, it's the only online place I play because of the vibe and decent population.

Not that I feel anyone has asked me to justify a post, just wanted to throw it out there for info

but it is not that simple though. because this is a forum if people don't like/ agree they post. that is not necissarily the cause of the arguments though, that is down to how people post.

Exactly for everyone is different and the use of language is vast, what can be perfectly reasonable to one, some or many can be be totally objectionable to one , some or many, so the only way to avoid upset is to choose ones word carefully or add context so people stand a chance of understanding without misunderstanding when it comes to subjects that are already fuelled with oppinnion.

But to illustrate how language can be misunderstood, and with this my apology if I offend anyone especially the mods for I personally find the following example not only educating, but funny with it;

But honestly I know what the score is and I understand how employers feel about it, but there is no harm, as long as the workload get's done in a reasonable time to satisfy the employer.

But I just have to snigger at the thought of that video blaring out across an office for all to hear.

But I will be mindful of the slaves in future.
