I saw it as a kid, too - kind of another example of what I was saying a while back in a thread where nostalgia of the good old / bad old days was being discussed. Not having TV dedicated to kids for most of the time, meant you had no option than either to do something else (in try Why don't you? stylee) or embrace stuff that maybe kids would naturally gravitate too.

There was spawned my love of Hitchcock's films, and other classics from prior decades (and some pretty naff old movies, too!).

Suspension and disc brakes, not very retro!

Take off the boingy bits, slap on some cantis, and go have fun.

First time I've seen something big with belt drive - much of that go on with bigger bikes these days?

Mainly just Buell's and Harley's the belt drive is clean, quiet and very low maintenance

the big old v twin that deafens you however is a bit more noisy...my mates buell could burst ear drums at 50 feet
