Hi peeps,

I'm Xavier from Belgium. I just bought a 1992 Sbike 719 after searching for any Sbike for quite a while. I used to own an Sbike 503, but that was stolen 8 years ago.
I currently also own a 2007 Cannondale F6, a 2004 Bulls sport 3.50 and am waiting for the arrival of my brand-new 2011 Bulls Copperhead 3.
Needless to say, 4 bikes is a bit too much, so I plan on getting rid of 2 of them in the near future.

Quick question : I've been reading the FAQ and looking at my profile, but I can't seem to find any field where I can enter my signature. Feel free to PM me with any (relevant) clues.

Hey everyone. Luke from Grimsby Lincs here. I currently own 3 older bikes but 2 are road so  . . . I bought myself a Claud Butler Enduro and decided to get involved on here. Hoping to get a bigger collection so I can show them all off :D .

Hi all, ive been fishing about for a couple of weeks so thought i had best say HI!
I owned quite a few Raleigh's in my youth through the 80's and 90's so this is my thing really. Ive not owned a Raleigh this side of the millenium & ive recently had the appetite to build one. Im not a total amateur to building bikes as ive been building old school bmx's for the last 5 years, nothing too exotic though.

I always wanted the Raleigh totally extreme so this is where its going to begin, ive posted in the wanted section hoping to find some joy as i cant seem to find anything out there on the great web! Cheers all,

Marcus.

Hi everyone, I'm Kiera, just joined because I recently obtained a 1996 GT Zaskar and will no doubt be looking for advice and parts for it over the coming months.

I've just been getting back into cycling this year after a few years off, mostly ride road for sport (I do triathlon) and off-road for fun.

I tend to be a bit of a forum lurker but will definitely make some effort to contribute here!

Hi. I'm Craig. Live in Canada on the west coast - home of the Shore, crazy stupid descents, epic climbs and lots of rain.

Ever since university I've been into bikes. Started with a used road bike for commuting back in the 80's and bought one of those new fangled mountain bikes as soon as I could afford one. I've gone through a series of mountain bikes over the years with each bike getting heavier and stronger to handle my increasing weight and the insanity of the trails. Love to ride road or trail and like to play with bikes when I have the time and the money (which isn't often now).

I found this place while researching what I hope is the acquisition of a pristine mid 90's Kona Hahana this weekend. I plan to use the bike as a back up to my hybrid commuter and somthing to play around with on XC trails with the kids/tow the trail-a-bike on the dyke trails.

I'm not a purist, but I've always regretted selling my last XC hardtail. Those old steel XC bikes were a lot of fun to ride. I'm looking forward to throwing my leg over one again and going for a spin.

I like the feel of this place - it has a cool vibe.

Hi everyone,
Im Liam from Sheffield.

My current bikes are:
-Marin UHT Urban 2006ish (work bike)
-Marin Mount vision 2002
-giant gsr400 1997

I have just bought the giant gsr400 due to the influence of this site and my brother inlaw been given an 90's claudbuttler. i really wanted something to have fun on and take me take to my youth without braking the bank, so spotted the giant on ebay won it for £21 and was only few miles away.. result. i have a stock of old parts in my garage so ill be building this up with basically what iv got. although like an idiot i just sold some pace forks in amazing condition. and now want some again... story of my life.

loving the forum hope fully will get some pics up sooon

Hello Everybody,

This is my first post. I found this website a few days ago after trolling the net trying to decide what to do with my 1995 Diamond Back Axis TT. I feel like I might be starting a renaissance in mountain biking and wanted to either breath life back into my Axis or perhaps just buy a new bike (if you'll pardon me!). Though I've been road riding for the last 13 years (no racing in the last six years (kids)) my origins are firmly rooted in mountain biking.

I have to say this website and forum is fantastic. I've had many a nostalgic moment browsing around here. None more so that when I found the 1991 Specialised catalogue, I must have poured over that one for weeks and weeks prior to buying my Stumpy.

I did my first race on that bike (didn't finish  ), after going away and getting a bit fitter I started to do OK. I then bought a 93? Axis (steel frame, dark green), after a couple fairly good seasons on that one I bought a 1995 Diamond Back Axis TT (bought reduced in late 96). I loved that bike, it was so light and rode really well. I had my best results on that before drifting over to road racing.

Anyway I've never updated the bike significantly since and though I raced it a couple times in the last 10 tens years its essentially not be used much, save for a couple of excursions onto Exmoor and Dartmoor in the pre kids era.

So I went out to the garage last week and thought I'd start to pep up the TT a bit. It was then I discovered how badly deteriorated the parts had become. It needs a complete refit. Feeling a bit fed up I stripped down the frame with a view selling it and getting a new bike. Then I found this forum. I've seen a couple of really nice rebuilds posted on here, and I'm confused as to what I should do now. A large part of me wants to keep the bike as it represents the best of my 'glory days', and I think I'll struggle to get a bike that's as good a quality and as light for what I can afford these days.

Adrian
