The mother of legends: MS Racing Pro Comp XT

I've wanted this bike for a long time.
One appeared, but I was in France and I'd already bought the Sintesi. It saddened me; I thought it would go.
But no, it lasted the whole month without selling. The economy is tight here.
Anyway, I put it on the back burner because I had to go on a trip, and I spent a whole week thinking about it.
It didn't disappoint; it's just as beautiful as I remembered.

Interestingly, it has Thumbies XT and should be DX. I can't confirm the pedals, but I don't think they were XT...those improvements are welcome!

The surprise is finding it much better than I expected. It's really almost perfect for its age.
It doesn't really seem like there's much to do; in fact, it was delivered to me perfectly CLEAN!
I did wash it again, though, a pet peeve of mine.

So far, the tires were a Psycho rear tire and a Psycho II front tire. Well, I've now found a Psycho front tire, and now I have the complete set.

But I already have some ideas for completing the bike and leaving it as I remember it.

Yes, Mike Kloser helped put them on the map as well as Alpinestars. What a great rider and personality.

Funny it has 4 finger XT brake levers fitted. What was the saddle that was fitted when you bought it as they were own branded? The original seatposts were Strong Japan branded. Looks in great condition. The original tyres I think were MS Racing branded and are crazy rare.

The seatpost is unfortunately very worn, I don't think I can recover it.
Seriously, I've recovered some, like the one on my Raleigh Chill, which was in terrible shape, or the same Al-Mega seatpost shown in the photo (well, the Al-Mega was a very slow rebuild, but it cost €50 and it had no cracks or dents... there had to be something wrong with it ).
But I honestly don't see any solution for this seatpost; its marks are very deep and are all the way around, from top to bottom. ALL OF IT.

I think its previous owner must have kept it under a shelf or something and lowered the saddle to fit it.

The saddle is another story.
It's a vintage Selle Royal Mountainer. Also perfect.
The only thing is that while it's oddly proportioned on the bike, it's actually huge!
And I love that it has the mounts to hold a tool bag...but I don't think Kloser would have used something like that.
I'll have to put something more suitable for a bike called "Racing."

I don't think I'll look for the tires. If something turns up, it'll surely be at a "unicorn blood" price.
I've already been very lucky to find the rear tire match in just 24 hours.
The strangest thing? The guy was selling a Psycho I + a Psycho II, so not only do I have the set for this bike, I also have another set for the future
