The "modern" WTB Velociraptors (front & rear tires)

I see that WTB is offering the Velociraptors again...

Anyone have any real world experience with these?

I noted they do not offer different compounds (semi-firm & firm) and no Kevlar bead option like back in the 90s.

Am I better offering trying to locate some mint NOS? I do have access to a shop with a half dozen of black compound rears that are are mint (using one on my Rocky currently)

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Yeah, I remember the originals being good for pine needle type forest trails, raced downhill on them a few times at Eston Hills & Guisecliff, not bad, oh, crap in the wet.

I hear you there.

Migrated over to the Conti Navigator Pro (front and rear) after the WTB set.

Still miss my 1.9 kevlar smoke and 2.1 red ritchey z-max combo... even after all these years.

A friend of mine had a set of 1.9 Velociraptors, an original set from the mid 90s. We went for a ride probably around 2010 and the rear tyre lost most of its knobs on that one ride... May be worth buying new if it's for a rider.
