The Mendip Mauler 22 March 2015 ** New Sportive warning **

Looking forward to this. Should be a fun day out!

As Uncle Monty says, the more the merrier. A chance to play with the sportive riders on the hills.....

Re:

For some reason, I have been regularly checking the Events page wondering why this ride wasn't posted up yet...and lo and behold (to continue the shepherd theme) here the page is!

OK, I am up for this. Like Bugloss, I will be riding over big lumps in Wales on Saturday and had been planning an easy recovery ride on Sunday...so riding up steep hills with Daj should just about do it :)

Might cheat and bring my '97 Mercian with STI as I haven't got the Alan out of the winter hibernation yet.

Re:

Excellent. Looking forward to seeing everybody on Sundays recovery ride. Retro bikers on non retro bikes, but as far as I am concerned that is enough retro to fulfil the terms and conditions of it being a retro bike ride. I'm sure somebody once said "its not about the bike - its about cake".

I don't want to feel left out, so I will throw my own excuse in that I will be doing a fairly long ride Saturday with some nasty hills thrown in. This is the reason I will be slow, nothing to do with the fact I am just slow.....

Re:

Can we go for a 9.30 start? It is some distance to travel and I don't want to wake my wife up early for cycling 2 days in a row at the w/e

I figure we aren't in any hurry to get going as the only deadline is to be in the cafe for lunch (and the service better be bloody snappy is all I can say).

OK tardy, 9:30 at BarneyRubbles house, he should be up by then. :D

Looking forward to retro crawling around Cheddar.

I've made it to the UK, all I have to do is ride round 2 hilly brevets and I'll be completely and utterly shagged and ready for a grin.
