The elephant in the room.

I always thought that there should be 2 olympics... 1 for druggies and 1 for non druggies.., would make it interesting!

Another top sportsperson who constantly ranted about drug cheats and being clean was Carl Lewis.

Then it came out years later he had failed tests before the Seoul Olympics, along with 2 of his team mates. There was then a cover up.

As a side, I would not be surprised if Armstrong had taken EPO at some point. It was invented to boost red blood cells after the effects of chemo.

If I remember right he freely admitted that he had EPO as part of his cancer treatment.

For some years I have suspected that he blood doped (much less easy to detect). I imagine that (if he had) it would have been done with the same care and thoroughness as all his other preparation. Which brings me to the thought that lots of ex-USPS guys got caught after leaving for other teams, probably because they were more slapdash.

I'm always had a nasty feeling that Armstrong said "I never took performance enhancing drugs" rather than "I never doped". It may be pedantic, but there you are.

The only thing I can console myself with is that cycling knows it has a problem and it is out in the open.

What about Premier League football, or Motor racing for that matter? :?

Maybe I'm naive but you still have to have some people to believe in, so unless this is proved I won't believe it.

I agree, innocent until proven guilty yeah?
