The elegance of simplicity. Marin Team Marin, 1993

The Cateye Cordless needed a new battery, and voila! It's working again. Incredible.
The latex Michelins were completely dead....

I can't believe how much I like the cream tires, especially on bare steel. How do they grip on pavement? Looks to be a soft compound

I was lucky enough to find four Panaracer Magic NOS tires in Andorra a while back.
They're fantastic, very focused on hard terrain with loose stones.
The more the insoles, the more ball they grip (they round out, not flatten), and that makes them fast, very fast.
They're from the era when Panaracer had fairly soft durometers, providing a very solid and optimized grip. They're not as soft as the Duster Pro, but they're as soft as the Smoke with a skin sidewall, but with a lower lug, they last less.
Thank God, I don't use them much, and they'll last a long time. 🤣
