Bill Hughes at my old LBS in Wrexham used to take them apart in his sleep. I can still see him sat there with a tin full of tiny bits soaking in petrol to clean them. The Sturmy Archer illustrations reminded me of geared unicycle hubs, which I still can't get my head around either. The CAD animation doesn't help much, IMHO!
