just thought id share an excellent experience of my local a and e.

had to take the boy there today after the bed side table looked at him funny, and he nutted it, as you would.

1" gash across his eyebrow, loads of blood, loads of tears (he's only 2) and then the dreaded falling asleep.

rush to a 'nd e, lad wakes up and seems brighter, phew.

waited 30 mins, then seen, glued up, sent home. super friendly staff, and a quick turn round.

three cheers for the staff at colchester accident and emergency :)

Don't you worry jama, it won't be long before both you and him know that place like the back of your hands ;)

Many people knock the NHS but personally I think they are doing a difficult job in very difficult circumstances for very little reward. Went for a blood test today at our local hospital, can honestly say when she said 'a little scratch' as she pushed the needle in that is what it was. Took out 50ml, blood thirsty vampires.

The NHS are my heroes..

1 experience of Colchester A&E (slammed a meat cleaver into a knuckle hacking up a deer carcass) was great..

Clacton Hospital is brill (not quite so much the psychiatric unit but they still do ok in none too ideal circumstances)

Plenty of experience at Southend General.. they rock.. saved my life and done some class rebuilding..

Hope your little lad is ok jama . . . . . 8)

In the past 18 months I have been to hospital twice following crashes on the bike. I have seen fantastic service on the most recent visit following my high speed face plant. Then I have seen really bad service when I broke my collar bone and despite complaining of odd feelings on my lower left abdomen they failed to check and 4.5hours after first entering A&E they ordered an emergency ultrasound and found I had a good dose of internal bleeding. Even after all that they discharged me with an open wound on my back that had not even been cleaned.

That said I think we are amazingly lucky to have the NHS, and frequently express my admiration of the system even if it does have its problems.

At least we are not the USA on this front!

Glad to hear your youngen is OK, got to be nasty when they are so young.

cheers chaps, yep jake is doing fine, said to him the old mbuk line of
