Tentative WTD: lightweight frameset/full bike HT or FS (26")

A tentative one - I'm keeping an eye out for another project after recently getting back into a little bit of offroad stuff after a few years on the road only. I have a few decent parts to use up and mostly a nice set of 26" wheels (old-style, QR fit). I don't really have anything specific I'm looking for and I could be tempted by Full Sus for a change, even though I normally ride hardtails. I'd consider a frameset or complete bike and the main requirements are:

  • Something to fit me at 6ft0
Carbon or quality aluminium or frame - something light
For 26" wheels (disc), would possibly consider 27.5
For forks around 100-120mm max (which I don't yet have but I'm thinking along the lines of Sids/modern Pace)
I'm in Hampshire, so driveable from here or postable.

Interested to see if anything catches my eye, though fairly tentative at the moment.

Now sorted - thanks

Re:

Ive got a specialized s-works enduro fs frame that should be your size, I'm 6ft myself and bought this as a project a while ago and can't see me building it up.

Its black m5 alloy and at present in bits as I started to replace all the bearings and haven't put it back together yet. Came with a brain shock but that needed a service so I acquired a couple of non brain options to replace it with (triad which I believe or st least bought as nos, and an rs shock, I forget which but a very good one). All original bolts I have, also a brand new bolt kit and new mech hanger direct from specialized.

Frame is in good condition and once build back up will be as good as new barring a few scuffs. Its 26er and rear qr, forks were originally fox talas 90-130 and rear linkage can be flipped for travel adjust.

I have lots of parts to build this up with, inc pace rc41 forks, revs, sids, rebas, various gearing and other parts to make a while bike.

Also have a 19 inch pipedream scion 853 hard tail which is as good as new. Lovely ride and a bike I didn't think I'd contemplate selling but I need to downsize and its gathering dust since I did someone a solid and sold the gearing (gold x0) and have yet to do what I intended and replace it with 10x2 x0.

If either tickle your fancy, let me know.

Trek Elite 9.8 - 17.5" - virtually new.

2011 frame - not built up until earlier this year - so maybe 10hours riding on it.

Built with X0 3x9 - Bontrager XXX - 26" Hope/Crest wheels - a gnat's jobbie over 20lb (9.2kg) so pretty light.

Might be a bit small for you - but as I'm Hants/Berks borders - a test ride is easily sorted

*** Edited - got the weight wrong ***

Thanks for the replies so far. Change of bike plans means I might have to put the request on hold temporarily! If anything I think I'll just be looking for a frameset rather than a complete bike...
