I have decided the component choice for my Dekerf should be heavily Canadian led.....not that keen on Syncros so that leaves Race Face.
But what should I be looking for? Circa 1995 stuff btw and polished
Crankset; LP Turbines....where do I-Beams sit in the bling-o-meter?
Stem: Dues?
Post: XY?
Headset: Are RF any good or stick with CK?
Think thats it isn't it?

If you have any on your bike...lets be having a look at them please

Cheers

Carl

I'm going Syncros stem and seatpost with mine but have the same fugly reservations about the stem

Most expensive bloody seatpost I've ever bought is arriving on Monday just as one goes up for sale here for £25  I'll post some pics up so you can make an informed decision on its fugliness

I also have a Syncros stem on a steel frame, and though Iconioc, it is a bit bulky. Now Race Face did a very sleek CroMoly stem in black, and there's even a titanium version. Perfect for a Canadian steel steed:

There's an XY stem to go with the XY post as well. It's a 3-parts bolted together at the clamps design. They come in paint finishes too, including Judy yellow. But I remember them being quite flexy, not ideal especially for a singlespeed.

Enjoy!!

When did SY-Stems come out? Too late for you? The last quality RF stem IMHO. Same goes for the XY post.
The I Beam cranks were DH, I think, and fugly compared to the LP Turbines. I had some of the original turbines from way back when. I broke them after about 5 years. Race Face replaced them FOC with the newer, slightly beefier ones.
It WAS superb stuff, and reassuringly expensive, until they started making cheap tat, whenever that was...

i own three XY posts, one for the Cirrus, ETSX-70 and now the Amplifier.

also i lucked out and just scored this Ti stem, not as nice a specimen(s) as what Elev12k owns but i'm still :D

here's the thread i had started a few days ago.

Elev12k thread as well which i was directed to:

this early Deus CNC'd stem is a thing of beauty, i own one in white that's on my ETSX-70. i'd love to find a unpainted one.

My ETSX-70 has full RF stem, bar, post, crank and rings.
