Tell me about Coed Llandegla black runs?

Thinking of going there this weekend, Red route no problem I am sure, but that won't last all day, so what are the black runs like?

Balls of steel :shock: or just competent biker territory ? If you commit to the black route, although it states unavoidable obstacles - presumably you can get off and walk around certain parts if necessary??

Or if I have to ask the question shouldn't I even be considering it?

The black at CL is no harder than the red, the red is pretty easy as red routes go too.

cool - was looking at the videos and it just looks swooping, with a few jumps which don't have to be launched, nothing more? Excellent.

there's a wide (~1m) bit of raised northshore, quite high, but no drop off at the end, everything is roll-able IIRC

Degla black is real easy to ride,i do it on my 100mm travel inbred SS, my advise is to do 2 or 3 laps 1st being red/black 2nd just red and 3rd just blue, doing this you get a fair ride(you do the climb 3 times) 2 1/2 hours or so and also makes it worth the drive, i would also aim to get there early like 9am or else its full of family's and group's of chavy lookin lads that look like there going to mug you and leg it with ya bike. But its deffo worth a spin i do at least twice a week, so my see ya there Davo

Quick word of warning, last time I was there some poor sod had his bike nicked, he popped into the cafe to order a bacon butty, came out & his bike had been taken.

Might only have been a one off, but just be careful.

well I'm going retro so may not have much suspension, guess we'll see how we do! We're travelling up Saturday afternoon, so can be there early sunday morning hopefully
