Technicalbrains! BB size for Muddy Fox Sorcerer Mega + 500LX

Hiya, just noticed theres a ride next month with you lot, so gues I'd better get on and assemble me retro bike!

Needing a bottom bracket. IIRC its a '91 Muddy Fox Sorcerer Mega in Blue splatter, i'm sure it measured 68mm body but not sure on axle length, I'll be using 500LX Cranks.

Anyone know from their grey matter data bases?

Also do Deore Thumbies work ok with 8 spd cassettes? hidden gear?

i used a 122mm axle with a 500LX crank i had. i am currently using deore 7 speed thumbies with an 8sp cassette.

that seems correct, im running 122.5mm for my '92 Deore LX - next model up i believe

Go for a BB-UN54 just fitted one my 91 Saracen Pproject running Derore LX Had to replace the original pitted shimano Cup and axle, was 68 x 122
