Tatty but nice 17" EWR

Rest easy guys,...$313 seems pretty high for a bike with that kind or wear, even for a hard-as-nails frame like an EWR. Considering you'd also have to pay shipping to get it over to you guys, I'd say you did the right thing by letting it go. I'd call that sale price just on the cusp of sanity. For someone dying to get their hands on one its probably worth it, but if you were hoping for a deal, then you did good to let it go. I wouldn't have gone over 300 for it. :cry:

There will be more, gents. They are pretty damn rare, but they pop up every once in a while.

Just to whet your appetites, and maybe rub a little salt...

My buddy Matt's re-release in team orange , and my friend Paul's first gen team orange EWR (now with a disc brake mod!). You can really see the geometry differences in these pictures, the old frame having the high BB and crazy steep HT, while the new is modified for 100mm forks. I know I sound like a broken record, but they are great frames. Also, Paul's frame has hooded dropouts and not the Grove water-jets.

The downtube looks wider on the original - or am I seeing things?

Is there much difference in weight?

Yes the downtube on the original is bigger in diameter than the re-release. The new frame is at least a full pound lighter, maybe more! I've never really been a bike weigher, so I can't say for sure.

How does this translate to difference in ride? Appreciate the geometry would effect ride more but can you tell?
