Tandems

I have never come across a Kona tandem. Probably the most well-known are Dawes, Cannondale (amazing huuuuuge bottom tube), Santana.

Several of the MTB tandems I have seen (from non-tandem specialists) look all wrong, specifically in frame design, and would be most probably too flexy. It's as if they had seen a fuzzy photo of a tandem but never ridden one... :?

All those extra frame tubes are there for a reason, omitting them makes the back end do something only loosely related to the front.

Oooh, that's nice. But no so much use off road I suspect. My MTB tandem is a real hoot on twisty singletrack...like trying to drive a bus round a multi-storey car park.

This is the one I have been riding for the last 3 years, it is on kinda long term loan from Gary Fisher. I use it to ride the road with my friend Megan-hence the over padded rear saddle! It is a MTB tandem from the late 80's, painted by one of Gary's ex's, with a very eclectic mix of two tone metallic paint with some really odd artwork on the headtube which is beyond me. It is a lot of fun to ride, and we get over 50 MPH every time we come back to Fairfax down White's Hill to the West of town.

We're really enjoying our recently aquired GT Quatrefoil DX, gradually getting it back to standardish spec!
