IMO static bike shots are just like portraits - it's all about separating the subject (the bike) from the background. If you happen to have a completely plain background (like a white roll of paper) then it's easy. If you're outside, find something non-distracting, stand the bike a loooong way from it, stand a loooong way from the bike with a telephoto lens and choose a big aperture so you get the bike in focus and the background not.
