Hello, need advice please about taking bottom bracket out of frame as it's my first time and have the tool to do it.

1. Do you have unscrew the plastic cup first before doing the other side of the whole b/b?

2. it's anti clockwise to unscrew them?

I have to take two out of the frames, and it seem to be stuck in there as the frame is over 10 years old and guess the b/b is the same age, would wd-40 help?

Hope to hear some tips please, thanks.

unscrew non-drive side first by turning anti-clockwise as you look at it (i.e. leftie-loosie)

then undo drive side clockwise.

wd-40 might help yes. lots of other tips will follow no doubt

Unscrew the plastic cup first.

Unscrew towards the front of the frame, ie CW on the drive side and ACW on the non drive side.

Good Luck.

If either cup gives you hell, secure the BB tool to the cup with a wheel skewer, put the BB tool into a vice, and turn the frame. I've never had it fail.

Protect the splines on the BB at all costs. It will be in tight and you will probably damage them at some point, but don't damage them by not having the tool in properly. Take your time. It took bloody ages to get the 14 year old BB out of my Kona, but it did come out (was trashed though!)

I like to say a big thanks 'orange71, 'jango', 'ameybrook, 'south bound' for the tips on b/b, got all them out of frames (4) 2 was very hard which I had to use a lot of force while the other 2 was easy enough, a job well done today :) cheers chaps
