I'm close to finishing the Szazbo but the seatpost is doing my head in. According to the 96 brochure (mine's a 95) it's 28.6

I picked up a shim run a Dean post....no way would it fit. with a 26.8 to 28.6 shim :(

I thought I'd ditch the shim and bought a shiny carbon Raceface post , you know shims being crap....still too big.

So basically:

Between 95 & 96 the Seat tube Internal dia increased?
The brochure is wrong?

On my verniers I make it 28.2 - 4....but no one makes posts in that size as far as Im aware.
Can another szaz owner tell me what post they're running

You think youve got problems, I dont even own a Szazbo! imagine how bad that is!

- oh, yeah, good luck sorting it out you git ;)

Got a Szazbo (95ish),but not tried sourcing a post for it yet as it's still a frame in a box...
Be interested to see what fits for you!!
Sorry i can't help thus far.....may get it built up eventually....

if youre sure of the size get a machine shop to turn 0.2-0.4 off the OD of the shim.

coolest. bike. ever.

A friend of mine (the one to whom I gave the Tommasini I found in a garbage bin) got a frame in perfect condition for 500000 lire (250 Euros)
WITH A SYNCROS TITANIUM POST (with shim) - so the bastard didn't even have the problems you are experiencing!

You can buy 28.2 seatposts and 28.2 shims

just type

28.2 seatpost

or

28.2 shim

and there you go, even wiggle sell the shim though costlier than elsewhere.

(same for 28.4 )

Diameter could well have increased as they butted out and lightened the frame.

i have a ti version of it. that one fits with 28.6mm syncros ti or alu, thomson elite, moots ti and american classic ti.
