I have a friend who just got a good deal on ebay for some bars and stem, and now the seller is telling him that he "might" get hit with a high import tax. My friend thinks the seller is trying to flake out.
What sort of import tax could he be talking about?

I got hit with import tax from the USA once and it wasn't cheap. I think it depends what the sender puts on the mail ticket. If you get it sent as a gift then there should be no problem (although not all sellers will do this)
