Re: In all seriusness

Although in all seriousness, people's posts about their bikes are supposed to be about their bikes

And people springing snarking and sniping ambushes from the sidelines is not cool and is not the character of this forum
you mean like neils first post in this thread?

So I hope a bit of moderator action gets over here
whats with this place being so quick to lock threads? discourse is good

If people want to have a debate about the history, course and nature of the international MTB scene, they can start a topic - It'd be a good debate I'll bet
nothing wrong with doing that in this thread that I can see. LGF can just change the title again, or not if he doesn't feel like it

And then we can enjoy looking at some proper British Metal
bring back the pics!

OH man

If you like quotes so much:

Who said anything about locking threads?

But anyway, yes, pics, let's 'ave 'em!

I don't agree that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything. Presumably people want to learn about stuff that they are interested in. I know I do.
What has the first sentence got at all to do with the second?

I disagree with your disagreement - it's just plain churlish, to say nothing of being redundant. It's just another bandwagon, that I'm seeing more of, of late, that seems totally and utterly pointless.

If you have something better to discuss or post pictures of, then by all means, be the ball, Johnny. You post your thread and your pictures that are worth nice comments.

How does p1ss1ng on lamp-posts enhance learning? It doesn't, it's just plain ego.

There was nothing to be gained from your comments on LGF's bikes, than pure self-indulgence, and don't try and make out there was.

If you had / have a better point to make, a better thread to start, a better series of pictures, then by all means - roll the dice.

In the meantime, most thinking people who can cut through it, see the wood for the trees, and recognise a bandwagon when they see it, will see this encroaching mean-spiritedness that seems to be on the increase, for it's simple purpose.

Why thank you.

Snappy comeback.

Trifle limited, but snappy all the same.

But for the hard of thinking... there's a distinct difference between correctly sizing up peoples' comments on the real subject of a thread, and just simply out-and-out slamming the real subject of a thread.

But as you were...

Feel free to continue with your snappy, yet bogus, non-sequiturs.

you're welcome.I call em as I see em

what did your first comment have to do with with the real subject of the thread? at whom was it aimed?

maybe I took you the wrong way? please explain

Just came across this thread and was a bit suprised and disappointed about the direction the post was going before BP even made his comment. I see a few posts deliberately pushing buttons. As soon as one gets a reaction from this, they call foul.
Disappointing,
T

Edit: And now I see those statements have started to get deleted. Whats up with that? Isn't it like 3:30 in the morning there?

What, are you LGF's mom?

Anyhoo, I added more verbiage later in the thread to clarify my spicy initial reaction.
