Very, very cool. Geometry and tall headtube looks like it would suit us oldies very well!
Looks pretty dull/boring as mentioned, but would clean up easily and with a bit of a polish and some decals it would come to life in an understated way.
Good price too for this handmade beauty.

And the colour reminds me of a traditional
Scheme as applied to old Roadsters
This is the type of bike which would excel in long distance overland in Africa and on the road for weeks or months without issue

100%. This is a great buy. Love 6 speed XT too. Would be a shame to ever respray an original paint job, but this would be brought to life with new paint. I live inbetween the two collection points. I think he may have sold other bikes in the past as the x2 locations sound familiar, unless this was listed a while back and never sold?
I'm going to tag in @Tootyred as I think he knows a bit about Swallows...
If it were a size Small I’d have gone for it. Even though it’s very far away I’m sure people here would help.
The more I look at it the more I appreciate the very understated British style.
