Swallow barn find

Not much I can say about this that the photos won't answer! An amazing find here in New Zealand - a Swallow in Reynolds 753 built with Dura Ace and Campy Brev Int throughout.

It is in extraordinarily good condition, aside from wear at the join on the front rim, a few tiny spots of rust, and a minor ding on the downtube, this looks like it was never ridden. Original brake pads, original Campagnolo leather toe straps. Unbelievable.

Unfortunately it is a little small for me but gift horses and all that!

BTW, brev Int is Italian for "protected by international patents" and isn't a model name or range.

Oh man, thanks for that - not my greatest moment in bike archaeology But where the hell is the model name on old Campy gear then?!

Chainset I believe is Chorus, Pedals look like Record, Hubs could be either as with the front mech...

Lovely frame-Swallow Cycles based in Ironbridge in the UK. If you read their website they were some of the youngest accredited builders in Reynolds 753 at the time (1980s). I've been to their shop and completed a trial wheel building course which was fun (but definitely not my skillset!)

Model names on Campy stuff – rather too logical an idea most of the time, I'm afraid!

Pretty amazing thing to find in a barn, anyway...
