Super Record - 6/7 speed.

1984 super record rear mech allied to 1014 DT levers; question: how well does this work as a 7 speed set-up? I'm looking at a 52 front ring with 24 (perhaps) rear cog. Work well or better as a 6 speed set-up with the same ratios? any experience gratefully received.

Well it works with 8 speed Ergo's.
Indexing is fine although the lever action is a touch heavy.

Should work fine I think, the only thing might be the extra gear lever movement required to move across 7 sprockets, but it won't be that much more.
