Sun road 1967

Hey, I've been tempted into buying my neighbours bike. It's a Sun bike, new in 1967. Has been kept in her hallway for years I think. I'm just wondering how much its worth, she doesn't know and I'd like to give her a fair price for it. I've wanted a bike like this for ages & this'll be my first.

It's got a badge on the front saying 'sun Worksop', Zeus gran sport rear deraillier, leather saddle, weinmann brakes. Wasn't sun bought by Raleigh about this time?

Are you going to restore this or sell it on? As it stands its not worth a great deal. Could well be a worthwhile restoration project.

I'll be restoring it, built a few bikes from parts, not done an old bike like this before, will try and maintain it's original parts/style. Great summer project.

Could be nice with some work, but would only fetch about £25 on eBay as it stands now.

Looks like it was purchased as a frame and built with a choice of components. Quite common in the 1960s because there was no purchase tax on parts, only on complete bikes.
The Zeus copies of Campagnolo were quite popular, but not widely sold, and not used as original equipment. At the time Spain did not recognise patents, so there could have been problems selling quantities outside Spain.
