Stupid is as stupid does

Quite.

Trump has his place in the world. The chance now is to work with him to ameliorate the damage. or push him out in the cold and have no influence on him.

Can't teach an old dog new tricks, especially one of low social intellect.

Let's hope there are mechanisms in place more like.

He will hold little executive power. Plenty of reason to hope.

Clinton would have run rings around anyone attempting to temper her exuberance.

Re:

Trump may possibly be a buffoon, a megalomaniac, a sex maniac, a chauvinist ... and more ...

... however, if anyone has actually listened to what the man had to say during his heartfelt and sober speeches ... it would be apparent that he actually might be able to lead the nation quite favorably.

Time will tell.

I really couldn't give a feck what you think of me or my acheievments quite frankly.
I'm not really interested in your achievements either. But you're the one calling Trump, Farage, Brexiters and Americans stupid, morons, idiots etc and I'm suggesting that given what they've accomplished maybe they're not so stupid after all.

But clearly it's easier to throw insults around than question why and how your side(s) misjudged the prevailing mood so badly.

I think what Brexit and the U.S. elections have shown, is just how many blinkered up themselves people think democracy is only okay until it does not go their own way and when it doesn't, then it is everyone else's fault because they are too stupid to understand whilst they remain intelligent enough to tell them that.

There is nothing wrong with you being unhappy a vote hasn't gone your way but to then come out with the lunatic options why, highlights how society is changing. It doesn't help with a flooded market of media all trying to outdo each other. Example, today "Riots across America because of Trumps win" in a country of 20,000 cities they then listed 7 and the riots? groups of millennials, students and the great unwashed with most groups not totalling more than 70 people.

Trump isn't even in yet, Brexit hasn't even started yet but the self proclaimed intelligentsia apparently are clairvoyants but in truth most will be half empty glass people.

I saw a headline which I feel captured the mood "Trump’s triumph has crushed the lefty luvvies, useless pollsters, multicultural mafia and gender Nazis who refuse to listen to regular people."

Trump like Brexit, tapped into the majority who often felt/feel that we are so busy being politically correct that we become blinkered as to how democracies work particularly when it comes to voting, movement and some who benefit from that, see the majority as dumb asses who need to be told what to do and not express it or they will be shut down with terms such as racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, misogynist

The only place I see one sided democracy is North Korea, every where else is majority vote, get used to it.

i think screaming lord such's slogan is more suitable for these modern days.
"vote for insanity, you know it makes sense"

When Michael Gove said people were fed up with experts he had it bang on. The usual suspects queued up to slate him but the fact is the so called experts got it wrong on a Tory majority, Brexit and now Trump.

Experts were wrong. Polls were wrong. Even bookies were wrong. What that says to me is there is a swell of people who don't like the way things are going but aren't loud and militant about making it known. They won't go on rallies, they won't burn effigies and they won't spend hours hashtagging on Twitter.

But they will go in that wee booth and stick two fingers right up the establishment.

The great thing is now there is a precedent. We and the Yanks have shown the status quo can be broken. Marine le Pen anyone?

Oh please, I would embrace it if it were true. I'm not sure who you think 'my side' is, but supporting Brexit as a protest vote against the establishment?

Many people voted Leave for many reasons that had sweet FA to do with EU membership.

Edited it to be correct, you are welcome.

As to your silly picture, Branson, George Soros, Bill Gates, Li Ka Shing all Billionaires and all spent money to push and influence the remain cause.

Pretty much most of those who voted to leave voted for one single thing, For Britain to control what Britain does. and that is why the question was Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union

Yes or No

Obviously we chose correctly :D
