Stuck stem

quill stem stucked in a steel frame .

bolt came out but stem wont budge .

tried with bars in the stem and twisting it .

bashing it from the top , side and below .

any other ideas ?

Squirt loads of WD from underneath down the headtube leave upside down over night...try the next day with bars in.
Helpful if somebody else helps by holding the frame.

You can get cans of PlusGas which is even better for some applications. Also I'm not sure that overnight is always enough. A week is better.

Plusgas is the one, it's so much thinner than WD, it runs into every little crevice.

fit the forks over a sturdy fence then twist the bars /stem

You can often pull out the wedge from the bottom by fitting a bolt through the base of the steerer with a large washer. Then tighten the bolt, pulling the wedge away from the stem. Grease the bolt thread thoroughly first.
