Stickers on Bikes

No, not normal decals but BITD I'm sure most of us covered our bikes with promo stickers from the likes of PowerBar, Hope, X-Lite, Local
Motion, Oakley, MBUK etc etc.

Very rarely see a build/bike on here decorated with stickers now - one fad well and truly left behind?

I'm tempted to "PowerBar" my Ridgeback up but can't bring myself to do it...

I used to be a real sticker nut - got a huge bag full of hundreds of the things still. Got a couple on the Chameleon but here's my old Haro from BITD when I loved a bit of colour:

Re:

I must admit that I'm a fan of applying those types of stickers on my builds occasionally..

In particular, the old Oakley logo brings back a lot of memories for me. It therefore strengthens the retrovibe a bike oozes, so you can find that on several of my builds (just like the Onza porcupine and some Syncros and Ringlé stickers..).

I only used stickers from kit I used.
AirB and Michelin on the forks and seat stays (next to the tyres) Mavic on the rims, XTR on the top and down tubes. That sort of thing.

"I only used stickers from kit I used"
What he said. A couple of those are OK (only if you actually have the kit on), otherwise lame.
Maybe if you're doing a famous racer's tribute bike and want all the sponsors on.

What they said: I only used stickers for kit on the bike ( or me) but I did like them. - Hope, SRP, WTB, Muc Off, Onza, Pace etc. ( And the odd power Bar and so on one)
And Mint sauce stickers, obviously. Because all my bikes were Sheep powered.
I wish MBUK would do a nice Mint sticker set again.

I would imagine a lot of stickers came as freebies with mtb mags.

The internet has killed off mags (beano for example), there simply is fewer of them.

Not on my bikes, but my son did stickerbomb one of my track pumps.

Love the Haro 8)

I've got an '85 Master in similar condition. I'll never restore it - all the proper old bikes are so clinically restored these days that they just ain't *right*.

Re:

Rox clothing was always a favorite of mine. I'd like a couple of subtle ones on my bikes, but TBH it's just really difficult to find proper retro ones from the right era, rather than modern ones.
