depends how hard it will be ridden imho. could try and get a stem with less stack height?

You could drop in an offcut from another steerer. The clamping of the ahead system should stop it working loose and it would give a extra strength .

Typically I had a bit until 2 weeks ago :roll: ditched it in a clearout sorry.

Yeah, it'll be fine, the stem clamps the steerer and the top nut will keep everything in place anyway.

Kens idea is a good one as it will help the stem maintain a nice round shape, but there are no real safety issues running it like it is to be honest.
