steerer question

can i fit any steerer into any pair of forks?

If you have a machine shop yes,some steerers are press fitted into the ally crown,i.e Manitou 3/4's ,pace on the other hand have bolt in steerers,it is possible like ive said but youd need to have some bits bored/machined out to fit.

what forks ya got. I used to change judy pressed in ones with Marzocchi ones replacements when people wanted to change frames. Accsess to heat and a 5 tonne press helps!

i'm going to be taking delivery of some manitou m-sports quite soon, and the steerer comes up short - i was thinking of using a steerer extender, but thought it might be simpler to swap it with a longer one instead.

on reflection, i think i'm just going to buy an extender.
