star nut fitting - a poll!

This has been going for 6 days now,For gawds sake hammer the bugger in and be done with it :shock:

I use a 1/4" drive socket that's just a bit smaller than the internal diameter of the steerer. Use the allen bolt to fix it square in the middle, then bash.

So I'm neutral. `

Star nuts are a poor solution. Anything which works by digging in and deforming the tube should be avoided. Head doctors are a much neater idea and work well.
