same can be said for the £2k+ mountain bikes when a similar performing bike can be built for less or much less with 2nd hand gear.
Or performance cars at £30k+ when a good track build will cost less but perform better.

i see what you mean but for the cost it's not too bad. Your money gets a quality bike, street cred, possibility of getting laid, and money goes to a good bike company.

My sunbeam will cost significantly less than 500 notes , I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't weigh much more either . That boardman is in the 20lb+ range , how have they managed that with the alloy frame and lack of parts ? must be the generic .
