Bad Back. Ignore medical advice and ride. No 1 SIDs broken. Have to take out the Indy. 3 miles done, drop into woods. After 6months on cross, instantly reminded of how much fun mtb's are. My goodness, she rides sweet. Fluid and smooth and agile and not a clue what time it is even. Perfect. The land is dry. 1 week after last deluge. Dry. Dust. Tyre make summer sounds again as they scrabble for grip over chalk. Ride along side a grumpy 93 Kona rider. Turn off and drop that conversation. Through Joe's singletrack and up to the cafe. I LOVE THIS BIKE. Even the best tea shop in Britain has re-opened. Carry on all afternoon. Just keep going. Home. Shattered. Back ache. Roast dinner. Meet friends. Big smile. Best ride of my life.
