Spin tri spokes

Hello all :D . I've just decided to restore my Raleigh team replica mtb and I would like to try and get my hands on a set Spin tri spoke for it. I was just wondering how hard they are to get hold of these days and what sort of price would I be looking at???

To be honest chap, I dont think the SPIN's would suit the Team Replica......wouldnt do it justice.

Use the search tab above and dig out a pic of member sinnett177's Dyna Tech which is Adrian Timmis' old race bike; thats what you should aim for 8)

However, if they are what your after, you'll be looking at £200+ for a decent set. I just sold my average condition rear one on Ebay for £90.

I was thinking that Pickle. I've just had a soft spot for Spins :D But I do agree with you about them not being right for the look of my bike. Its an 89 team edition with a 531 frame so maybe they are a bit new looking. I will be after a set of sus forks though so if anybody has a set they're looking to sell

I had a set of spins...liked them at the time, but they're heavy for not much gain...other than pose status....

Agree it wouldn't look great on your Raleigh too...just my 2 cents ;)

Lets se some pics of your bike buddy!

Rich

Its hard to find the right frame for spins :? i would have put them on a modern frame not an early team replica
Spins you either love em or despise them with every fibre in your entire body

But go for it ,they like a bit of controversy here

Definately marmite

Not a fan at all, in fact I even think the new Crank brothers wheels look shite! lol

Ok forget the spins idea you are all right they would look trash on my bike. I will post some pics up when I've got her finished but she really looks sorry for herself at the moment :( I've just had a quote of 300 quid  for a repaint from Argos. Can anyone recomend somewhere a little cheaper.

Take a wood finishing or paint spraying at your local technical college
They will have top spray gear you can use to your hearts content
It will cost about £70-£90 for 12 weeks/one evening a week

And if you dont like the finish/colour its dead easy to redo.I remember from my finishing classes that there were very expensive metallic finishes available to use for free, donated by some of the companies that did day-release with the college
Plus you get 1 or 2 professional sprayers to ask advice from or even spray it for you if you 'can't get the hang of it'

After 12 lessons in spraying ,the finish you get will be as good if not better than any £300 job.

Im thinking of doing an update evening course in finishing just to get access to their 300ltr 3 phase compressor and guns costing £300 each ,in a water curtain spraybooth
