My first attempt at a retro MTB restoration. 😆

Iv been wanting to try my hand at restoring any old MTB if I could get my hands on one. I have finally got my hands on a falcon panther I really like the colour so am going to give it a go. Am just wondering where is the best place to get the like of new cable outers and inners for the breaks and gears and grips etc?

Cheers

Fleabay or local bike shop. Cables can be picked up quite cheap. For you to learn skills fixing up this is ideal, but I would invest time rather than money

You can get a set of shifter cables for a tenner here...

You certainly have your work cut out, I'd be looking at a few other areas before worrying about cables.

Frameset has a lovely colourway ;)

Love the colour of that bike. Looks like you have quite a restoration on your hands with that one but thats part of the fun and the satisfaction when it's finished and you can ride it in the trails knowing you did it all by yourself.

Did Captain Nemo own it? Looks like it was stored undersea! At least the f&f look in good nick, but as above, that drivetrain needs some attention - some cables won't be the only thing you'll be needing. Could be a cool enough ride though with some savvy purchases and tinkering. Good luck, and ask for advice if needed
